Martham Scarecrow Festival & Mayfair at Martham

BECCLES ANTIQUES STREET MARKET SUNDAY 3rd MAY 2015 8am – 4.30pm
The first of the two Beccles Antiques Street Markets held in the centre of
Beccles will take place on Sunday 3rd May, Bank Holiday weekend (the second
being on 30th August). The market has gone from strength to strength over
the past five years and now plays host to a hundred general and specialist
dealers selling a wide range of good quality antiques and collectables
including furniture, silver, china, linen, jewellery, books, clocks, retro
and vintage design and decorative items. The dealers have a great selection
of antiques on offer and are experts in their field and happy to share their
knowledge and expertise with collectors.
Many of the local shops and restaurants and bars are open that day and first
class local catering is incorporated into the market, including a hog
roast, ice cream and tea and coffee. If you haven’t been before you
really should give it a visit and experience the pleasure of a busy outdoor

classic vehicle rally at Earsham Hall

Bungay Lions is organising another classic vehicle rally at Earsham Hall on Sunday 3rd May

Last year saw 330 classic vehicles on display in the beautiful grounds of Earsham Hall and thousands of visitors. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better, with improvements to parking and more catering than last year. The EDP article about last year's event can be found here.

As well as hundreds of classic vehicles on display there will be craft and trade stalls, autojumbles, plus entertainment from the Taverham Band and Air Mail (a Shadows tribute band). For children there will be Razz the Clown and a bouncy castle.

Gates will be open between 10am & 5pm and entry for the public remains a very reasonable £3. This year Bungay Lions have chosen Community Transport as the major beneficiary.

Ladies in Gear - lowestoft

John Grose Kia in Whapload Road, Lowestoft, has come to the aid of local women drivers by launching a free ‘Ladies in Gear’ evening on Thursday, May 21. Men are also welcome to attend.

There will be practical instruction on personal awareness and self-protection, basic car maintenance and self-help will be top of the agenda and advice will be given on reducing the risks women face when driving for work or socially, including dealing with so-called ‘road rage’ in other drivers.

It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who can handle anything! She enrols at Harvard Law School in order to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner Huntington III.
