Fears over cuts in Norfolk

A special meeting will be held next week- as Norfolk council make decisions on how to save 10-million pounds.

Council bosses say they've been forced to make major cuts after the government withdrew grants.

Next Monday we should get a better clue about how many people will lose their jobs, and which services will be affected.

Championship side Ipswich Town beat Bristiol City 2-nil

It was a 1-all draw for Norwich City and Notts Forest.

Elsewhere, Leiston thrashed Cogenhoe (PRON: COOK-NO) United 3-nil.

In the Rymans League Premier Division-

Lowestoft Town beat Margate 2-1

Both games involving Kirkley and Pakefield and Mildenhall resulted in draws

And Gorleston beat Thetford Town 3-nil in Division One.

East coast truckers convoy kicks off

The east coast truckers are back today.

More than 100 trucks are heading to the east coast from Norwich.

Rob Billman- helped organise the convoy

The convoy will pass through Yarmouth and end up at Pleasurewood Hills- and The Beach will be there to help lead it back this afternoon.

It's all raise money for disabled children.

Primary school pupils on the east coast are missing one day of school
every four weeks.

The latest attendance figures have been published by the government.

The numbers also show primary school pupils in Suffolk are more likely to
'bunk off' lessons than those in neighbouring Norfolk.

One in four missed school days on the east coast are unauthorised.

That's according to figures released by the government.

They've published details of how many days off were taken by secondary school pupils in Norfolk and Suffolk last year.

It shows the average pupil took a day off every three weeks- a quarter of those were taken off without permission.
