Man charged with burglary in Lowestoft after pretending to be a gardener

A man has been charged with burglary and possession of Cannabis after cash was stolen from a property in Lowestoft.

On the 23rd of January a man knocked on the door of the home on Kimberley Road and asked the victim if they would like to have any gardening work done, on gaining access to the property, he then stole a tin can full of cash.

35 year old Stephen Smith, of Romany Lane in the town, was arrested last Friday on suspicion of burglary and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre. 

He was then charged with burglary and possession of cannabis on Saturday. 

A 25 year old woman was also arrested in connection with the incident on the same day, but has since been released under investigation.
